Statement of Faith

We are a Messianic Congregation of both
Jewish and non-Jewish believers who earnestly
seek, both individually and collectively,
to magnify and glorify the Lord Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah,
and to share the Good News of the Gospel with others,
both Jews and Gentiles,
thus encouraging them to believe in Yeshua as their Lord and Messiah,
and to foster spiritual growth and maturity in all members.

We Believe…

1. We believe that the Bible, composed of both the Tanach (Hebrew Scriptures) and the Brit Khadashah (the Renewed Covenant), is the only infallible and authoritative Word of God and the source of our faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15-172 Peter 1:20-21).

2. We believe that God is Echad (one), as declared in the Shema found in Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark 12:29-31. A “united One”, or “compound unity”, or “tri-unity” eternally existent in three Persons as expressed in Isaiah 48:16; and Luke 3:22. The Persons being: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Proverbs 30:4).

3. We believe in the Deity of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) as the Son, and second member of the tri-unity of God; that He is the “Seed of a Woman,” as God promised in Genesis 3:15, and that His virgin birth was to be a sign to Israel of His Messiah-ship as stated in Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; John 1:1-14; Philippians 2:5-11.

4. We believe in the Deity of Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) as the third member of the tri-unity of God. We believe that He provides a present ministry and continuous active gifts by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a godly life and demonstrate signs and wonders for the glory of God and the building of His kingdom (Ezekiel 36:26-27, Joel 2:27-29, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 12-14, and Galatians 4:6)

5. We believe in Messiah Yeshua’s sinless life, His miracles yesterday and today, His substitutionary sacrificial death on the cross as our atonement, His bodily resurrection, His appearance there-after in Jerusalem, His ascension , His personal future establishment of His kingdom on earth (Acts 2:23-33). We believe that Messiah Yeshua will return to Jerusalem in glory at the end of this age (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17), to rule forever on David’s throne. He will affect the restoration of Israel in fullness, raise the dead, save all who belong to Him, judge the wicked not written in the Book of Life who are separated from His presence, and accomplish the final Tikkun Olam in which Israel and the nations will be united under Messiah’s rule forever. This restoration will bring everlasting joy for those who belong to Him. They will live forever in an order of mutual blessing and fellowship with God, in a cosmos perfected beyond description. (Isaiah 9:4-5/5-6; Romans 8:18-19; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:1-4)

6. We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin and gaining salvation is by grace through faith in Yeshua HaMashiach, by whose shed, sacrificial blood we are regenerated and renewed by the Holy Spirit. (Leviticus 17:11; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:23-28).

7. We believe that all people have sinned and have fallen short of God’s glory (Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 3:23) and the penalty of sin is death (Ezekiel 18:4, 20 and Romans 6:23). Messiah restores us to God (Isaiah 49:6) and that Messiah, Yeshua, died to pay the price for sin (Isaiah 53:4-6, Romans 5:8), and those who confess Yeshua as the Messiah shall be saved (Psalm 2, Romans 10:9-10, 1:16). All people will be resurrected, those who under covered by the blood of Yeshua to everlasting life and the others to eternal separation from God, the latter being consigned to a state of everlasting punishment (Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:46; John 3:16-18).

8. We believe the tevilah (immersion) of believers, as commanded by the Scriptures, as an outward sign of an inward salvation experience, symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection into newness of life (Romans 6:3-7; Matthew 3:16; 28:18-20).

9. We believe that God chose Israel, the Jewish people, and entered into an everlasting covenant with them so they might be the firstfruits of a renewed humanity, who would mediate blessing and restoration to all the nations of the world. In gracious love, God gave Israel the holy Torah as a covenantal way of life, and the holy land of Israel as an eternal inheritance and pledge of blessing of the World to Come. (Genesis 12:1-3; Jeremiah 31:34-36/35-37; Romans 11:28-29). We believe that the Jewish people, according to the flesh (descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), who place their faith in Israel’s Messiah, Yeshua, have not disowned or separated themselves from their race and Judaic heritage, but rather are now, as never before, true sons and daughters of Israel (Romans 2:28-29, 1- 16, Romans 11).

10. We believe that the world-wide mishpochah (family) of God is made up of the people of Israel (the Jewish people) and Gentiles, one new man (Ephesians 2:15), who have placed their faith in Yeshua HaMashiach.

11. We believe all followers of Yeshua are directly called to propagate His Besorah (Good News) to all the world (Matthew 28:18-20)

12. We believe in the five-fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11) of the world-wide and local body of Messiah and that God-ordained elders are placed in the community for shepherding, correction, discipline, and vision. (Hebrews 13:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, 1 Timothy 5:17, Acts 20:28, and 1 Peter 5:2-3)

13. We believe that God commands us to make every effort to live at peace and resolve disputes with each other privately or within the community (Matthew 18:15-20; 1 Corinthians 6:1-8)

14. We believe that every disciple of Yeshua should demonstrate commitment to, and service in, a local congregation.
